Bycicle Itinerary in Sardinia

sardinia bycicle itinerarySARDININA NORTH EAST COAST: In the territory between Siniscola, Posada and Mount Albo, in the south-eastern Gallura, the coast has remained uncivilised, with bicycle courses between beaches of tropical colours and red and tortured cliffs.

Ideal to visit by mountain bike or with a trekking bike, visit the numerous dirt track trails and paths, without omitting a lovely restoring swim in crystal clear waters that lash the almost tropical and untouched beaches, from Goletta Verde declared the most beautiful of Sardinia, because practically is “virgin”.

ITINERARIES: Between the proposed courses, of which two are along the coast, for mountain bikes in a naturist area of great beauty, the third itinerary reached by car to make the circumnavigation to Monte Albo, signalling the beginnings of a series of tracks, covering on foot in panoramic scenery.

1st Itinerary: Oleandri Coast and Berchida beach
Departure and Arrival: Capo Comino lighthouse, Siniscola
Duration: about 4 hours cycling, excluding stops
Distance: about 50 km
Uneven: about 200 metres
Difficulty level: medium/high for distance, orientation, bottom crushed stone
From Capo Comino lighthouse, turn onto the SS125 in direction for Olbia. After about 10 kms you will come across a dirt road on the left, climbing up the hills and turning around Pizzu su Anzu, bringing you again towards the sea in proximity of Berchida beach.

2nd Itinerary: Cantiere Forestale Biderosa
Departure and Arrival: Sos Alinos, Siniscola
Duration: about 1½ hours cycling, excluding stops
Distance: about 25 km
Uneven: insignificant
Difficulty level: easy, lovers and occasional tourists
A brief but extremely fatiguing trail pushing the bikes along the beach, allowing to add Berchida beach to the course. From here, you can take the dirt road that cuts across the interior.

HOW TO ARRIVE:

By ferry: the best reported for quality and prices is that offered by Corsica Ferries, the ferry companies with large yellow boats. Leaving daily from Livorno, day and night time for Golfo Aranci, in 6½ hours, and from Civitavecchia for Golfo Aranci in 7 hours.

By car: From Golfo Aranci, Siniscola is about 70kms, either by motorway 131 that from Olbia passes through the interior, or by the coastal road SS125, passing San Teodoro and Posada.

By air: the most accommodating airport is Olbia, with national and charter flights.
